Hey guys! I know I have been slacking off for the start of the New Year, but I have been busy getting back into the swing of things at the start of this new semester. I have taken on a larger class load for this semester, and I have had to figure out new times where I have legitimate down time to do whatever I want (not including homework, or anything school related)! Now that I have figured out my new schedule it is time to blog!!
This Pinterest post will be a little different than most. Instead of talking about things that I found and how I would wear them, or general ways that things could be worn, I will be talking about staples that everyone should have in their wardrobe this Winter that could help them branch out, or could help to find fashionable things that go with everything! Let's get started!

Chunky sweaters are popular this year! I think it is because of their versatility. They can be worn with leggings (plain or patterned), jeans, they can be dressed up or down (by dressed up I mean like church, and not for a posh event), or even worn casually for class. I got several of these for Christmas, and I wear them all the time! They are so comfy and warm, which is quite essential when you have to walk a quarter mile to some of your classes!

These funky patterned leggings also seem to be in style. I'm not going to lie, I actually love them! I think they are cute, fun, bright, and a statement item! Lots of girls probably look at them and think hey I like those leggings, but I could never pull them off. Actually girls the "pulling them off" part is quite easy. Just pull from the ankle holes! Just kidding, but seriously with a plain sweater, long shirt, or sweatshirt these would look great on anybody. However, if you are not feeling particularly bold this season I understand, this will not be in everyone's comfort zone. I encourage everyone to try them because I love mine!

Of course everyone needs a warm winter coat! I found these, and I am in love with both of them! of course because they have an A-line shape and the red one has a bow on it! Colored coats are popular because sometimes winter can be a neutral heavy season for some people, and a little pop of color is great! For those who love to stick with neutrals, there is also the adorable black coat on the left, which is just as cute as the red one!

Black skinny jeans are a great staple item for your wardrobe this winter! I love mine because I can wear them with big sweaters when I just do not feel like wearing laggings because sometimes it is too cold for leggings. Also when wearing black jeans with black boots my boot socks stand out more! Wearing dark pants can also steer you away from wearing dark tops all of the time, if you tend to do that.

Happy New Years everybody!!! First post of 2014! Wow! It doesn't even seem real! For the very first post of the new year I have found very cute winter fashions to share with you guys...

...with the exception of this dress. This cute dress would be perfect for springtime. It's made of light material, but if you add a long sleeved black t-shirt, black or patterned tights, and black riding boots it could be a winter outfit too!! Plus the bow and collar detail makes it super cute!

This is a very popular style for this winter. Crazy patterned leggings with a plain baggy sweater and an infinity scarf. I would love to add some color to this otherwise bland outfit by switching for a nice colored sweater or scarf/ Maybe mint, light blue, red?

This is also a popular style for this winter! Long button ups with tights, leg warmers/boot socks, tall boots, infinity scarves, and open sweaters! I love the open sweaters because they are really cozy, and are perfect for chilling between classes in the dorm room with a cup of hot tea or coffee!

Slouchy hats are also very popular. The great thing about these hats is that if you have a bright green, blue, or some other color, they do not have to match the outfit! Or if you are wearing a really bland neutral outfit they can bring a pop of color to the outfit! I wear my green one all the time, but I never wear it with red, even around Christmas! I like to secure my hat with a few bobby pins!

Lastly, I found this gorgeous coat! I love the color, the little poof of the A-line, the belt at the waist, the buttons! Absolutely everything about this coat screams my name! It just to die for isn't it?
