How To: Fix broken makeup

Hey guys! This time I am going to tell y'all how to fix makeup that is cracked! I had a bad experience with broken makeup a year ago, and now I am going to share how to fix it!

First let me tell a mini story... So last year I had bought a new powder I wanted to try, and when I got it out of the bag it fell out of my hands and onto the hard tile floor in my dorm room. My first thought was, crap now its going to have broken and I am going to be powderless for a few days before I can get back to the store to replace it. Sure enough when I picked it up it was shattered to pieces, but before I gave up hope that I had just wasted $5 I turned to none other than Pinterest, and it gave me this solution...

To fix your makeup you will need:
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Toothpick (or any small pokey device)
  • The broken makeup
Step 1: Pour a cap full of Rubbing Alcohol.
Step 2: Pour Rubbing Alcohol onto broken makeup little by little.
Step 3: Stir with toothpick.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the makeup has bonded together again.
Step 5: Leave the makeup out to dry with the lid off! Eventually the alcohol with evaporate and the makeup will become firm again! **It took mine all night to dry**

A couple things to keep in mind:
  • I broke a container of Rimmel Stay Matte powder, which is bigger than a small container of eyeshadow. It took a cap and a half...ish to fix my makeup. You can adapt the steps to fit the size of makeup you are fixing, which is why I added "little by little" to the end of step two. If you pour too much rubbing alcohol on the makeup then it will take longer to dry and can overflow out of the container, so just be conscious.
  • This will work on any pressed powder product! (Pressed powder is different than loose powder because you cannot break loose powder).
  • After fixing the makeup it will smell like Rubbing Alcohol, but the longer you leave it out with the lid off the more the smell disappears. It took a day..ish I think for the smell to completely vanish.
Thank you guys for reading, and I hope this comes in handy to somebody! It worked very well for me, and saved me a trip to the store and $5! If you have any questions leave them in the comments below!

Pinterest Favs #14

Hey guys! I know that in my last post I said that I was going to try to get into a routine for blogging, but as I am sure everyone guessed I failed. College is hard to get into a routine for anything besides classes and homework! Anyhow, I am back for the time being, so let's talk fashion. Specifically autumn fahion!

As I said last year, autumn is my favorite time of the year! It is so beautiful, the weather is perfect, bonfires, boots, scarves, layers, the scents of candles and flavors of coffee are the best. The list could go on forever, but I will save you guys the pain of reading all of that. Also I do not know if you noticed, but I created a new style for the blog based on autumn! Hope you guys like it! Sorry for rambling! Let's get to the fashion finally.
Starting out with something simple like this nice simple light grey sweater. It is longer, so leggings are okay to wear, however I would most likely wear dark wash jeans. I would also wear riding boots like the pair in the picture. There are also boot socks/cuffs in the picture which I love because I have a small obsession with boot socks! Since this is quite a simple outfit wearing a statement necklace or a bubble necklace like the one in the picture is great because it makes it a bit more colorful and fun. People can get lost in dark tones or simple outfits in the autumn and winter seasons, so adding a fun necklace is a great way to be different from the crowd.
I think that these style sweaters will be very much in style for the upcoming cold seasons. This is a baggy, bat wing style sweater which is great for those days in which your motto is the less effort the better. It would be cozy, perfect with leggings and riding boots or flats.
This is another style that is very popular in the autumn season, and also is a very simple outfit. A cardigan paired with a simple long.short sleeved shirt or camisole can make you look like you are trying to look good. With a pair of jeans, riding boots, and a fun scarf people will be very impressed with the effort to look decent when actually this is a simple outfit. I like the mustard yellow color of the cardigan in the picture, and I think that this color is growing in popularity and will be a staple in many peoples' autumn wardrobe. The scarf adds the bit of fun and uniqueness to this outfit that the statement necklace adds to the first outfit.
This outfit might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I really like it. This outfit is a good thing for church or some get together that requires a little more effort than an average casual outfit. Pair any simple, plain dress with any cardigan (that matches of course) and you have a very cute slightly dressy outfit for autumn. With this outfit in particular I would wear my cowboy boots rather than riding boots because I think that would be super cute.
This was a very recent pin of mine, and I love it more and more when I look at it. I love that darker toned blue because not many people wear this color in the autumn. People normally go for reds and purples, but this blue is different. Plus the skirt is faux leather which is becoming more and more popular, and I love the pattern on the skirt. Gold jewelry, and some flats would be super cute, and complete the outfit!
At first glance it looks as if the sweater is tucked into the skirt, but actually it is a crop top! WHAT?! Crop tops in autumn?! Yes people! It is still in style to wear cropped tops during autumn! Of course longs sleeves are required, and high-waisted skirts and pants are also required. In summer it is cute to show a bit of tummy, but in autumn you look foolish because (shocker) it is cold outside! Anyway, I love this outfit a lot, and think that some nice black heels or booties would be adorable.

That is it for this post guys! I am not promising that I am going to even attempt to blog weekly, but I will try to upload a little more often. I hope you enjoyed me talking about autumn fashion. Leave in the comments something you love about this season! If you do not like autumn what is your favorite season, and why is it your favorite?

There are two things I want to address really quick. If you read this on a mobile phone I just noticed today that if I lay it out weirdly like I did my last post it looks as if I do not know how to do a page layout, but that is because I publish my posts on my laptop. I also layout the page so it looks good in a desktop format, so I really know what I am doing you guys! The second thing is that I am almost to 1000 page views, and I am so excited! Share this with your friends, family, dog, great-aunt Betty, whoever! I am hoping that this post can get me to 1000 page views! Thanks to everyone who has read every single post from the beginning, and to everyone who supports me now, more than a year later!
