My Obsession!

Hey guys! So I have a bit of a confession...I am obsessed...with Oxfords! If you have absolutely no idea what I am talking about, then welcome into my world for a little bit!

Oxfords are only THE cutest shoes ever! I love them so much! I have a pair of light tan ones that I absolutely love, and will wear so often! They are one of many reasons I cannot wait for spring! Except you cannot really wear them when it is wet outside, but I will wear them as much as possible during springtime (probably summer too). I love this style because it is so vintage and retro and pinup and 50s, you can do so many things with this shoe and create so many styles! Basically they are very versatile. They add a little girlie touch to any outfit, which is another reason I love Oxfords! I encourage everyone to try them on in the store! I have to purchase the heel grips for mine because mine tend to rub my heels when I walk, and let me tell you it is not fun when you have lots of classes that day!

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this short mid-week post about what I am loving these days! What are you guys loving? Leave a comment and tell me about your obsessions! As always my links are in the side bar to the right! Kisses<3

Pinterest Favs #12

Hey guys! Spring is finally making appearances in Kentucky, and it's about time! I've been waiting so long for this weather, but I'm not getting excited yet because it's supposed to snow in a couple days. Nonetheless, I have transformed my wardrobe to all of my spring clothes, and I cannot wait for spring to finally be here for good! Everything in this post will be fashion for spring 2014!

Bright colors are going be very popular this spring. Like the peplum top and teal pants above, these are some examples of bright colors that will be popular. This outfit would look good with flats for a nice dinner, or date night.
Pastels are also popular colors in the springtime. This tank top with a big, flowy bow in the back is super cute, and perfect for spring/summer. It is light and flirty, and perfect just for a day spent with friends! It would be perfect with a cute pair of sandals or wedges!
This skirt is super cute, and just had to be in this post. I think it's perfect for spring because it is pastel, and it is light and flowy. It could be worn with a light, solid colored button down and a pair of white sandals or tan flats.
Of course this collared dress also had to make it into this post. It is super adorable and great for spring. It could be worn to church, or a play. It could be worn with heels, sandals, or flats. It is super light also, which makes it perfect for spring.
I just loved this outfit I found! I love the lacey top, tucked into the a-line/skater skirt. This outfit would be great with white wedges, flats, or even a pair of sparkley Chucks. (Converse).
This is a very casual outfit that is perfect to wear to class. The holey shirt allows your skin to breath making you not feel hot going from class to class. This is the perfect going to class/school outfit.

That's all for this post! I will probably post again in a couple of days! What is this posting twice a week stuff? Well, do not get too comfortable because I am a busy college student, but I am trying to post often to keep myself sane, and not stress. All of my links are in the side bar to the right! How To: Wash your makeup brushes!

Hey guys! This is a new type of post, and I hope you guys like it! This is the way I always wash my brushes, and I believe it cleans my brushes well. There are other ways to wash them, but this is the easiest for a college kid on a budget!
What you will need:
  • Baby Shampoo
  • Small Bowl
  • Makeup Brushes
  • Hand Towel/Paper Towels
Step 1: Put a drop of baby shampoo into the bowl, and fill bowl with a little bit of water (not enough to fully submerge the brushes underwater).
Step 2: Rinse your first brush under the faucet.
Step 3: Swirl the brush around in the bowl.
Step 4: Rinse the brush under the faucet until the water runs clean (if it doesn't go clean swirl it again).
Step 5: Lay the brushes flat to dry on the paper towel or hand towel (repeat steps 2-5 until all brushes are clean).

You might want to wash them on the weekend, or on a days where you are not going to where makeup the next day. Larger brushes such as powder or blush brushes may take a full day to dry.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed this mid-week treat! All my links are in the right side bar! See you soon! Kisses<3

Makeup Review #1

Hey guys! I know that I have been gone for a while, and yea I am a terrible person for leaving for so long blah blah blah, but I have a very special post for this week. It will be very different, and I hope you guys enjoy it! This week I will be reviewing some products I have used for awhile, and love a lot. I use these products daily, so I have a good idea about how they work best. With that being said, I am by no means an expert cosmetologist, and this is only my opinion. These are products that work best for me personally, and I have practiced with them a lot. Also, This post is not sponsored by any of the brands I mention. With all that out of the way let's get started with the makeup!
This I one of my favorite eye products that I use on a daily basis. It is Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion. An eyeshadow primer is a cream that you apply before the actual eyeshadow, and it keeps your eyeshadow from shifting during the day. It also keeps that horrid crease from appearing during the day. It definitely keeps the eyeshadow from shifting, and you do not need that much! A drop about the size of a pea will cover your eyelid just fine. A tube goes a very long way! There is a slight downside to this wonderful product. Urban Decay is a high-end makeup brand, and this tube that I bought at Ulta cost $20, which is quite steep, but there are drugstore makeup brands that probably make excellent primers that I will be experimenting with in the future. If you know of any drugstore primers I should try let me know in the comments and I will be sure to try them out!
This is my favorite eyeliner I have ever tried, and trust me I have tried many eyeliners in the 18 years I have been alive! This gel liner is Ulta brand. It goes on super easy, and has great pigment. A downside is that it does wear off quite easily because it is not waterproof, but it is still great. I also know it is odd for a gel liner to come in a pencil instead of a pot with a brush, but in my opinion it is much easier to apply from the pencil because sometimes the bristles on the brush go askew and make unwanted lines. I use this eye liner on the inside of my upper lid under my lashes, and along my waterline (the inside of my lower lid). This method I find to be full proof! There is virtually no way anybody could mess up! I got this for $8 at an Ulta store, which is the only place you can purchase this brand.
This has been my favorite eyeshadow palette recently, which is weird for me because I typically go for neutrals. Browns, greys, but not maroon! These are Ulta eye shadows, which are not bad at all. I find they work best with an eye primer. The primer helps them be very pigmented, and easy to work with (blending, smudging, etc.). This palette is called Attached, and the shadows are called (top left) Havana Nights, (top right) Lock and Key, (lower left) Yogurt, (lower right) Naked. I do not use Yogurt, but the other three in the palette make a beautiful smokey eye. I got this free in along with 11 other palettes, two double sided eyeliner pencils, and two shiny lip glosses. If you wanted to recreate this palette, you would have to purchase the single eye shadows. Yogurt and Naked are $7 each, and Havana Nights and Lock and Key are $6 each. In my opinion, this is quite expensive for eyeshadow, but it could be worth it!

My makeup brushes are like my children! I love them, and they are great at what they do. I wash them frequently, but that's for another post. I use Eco Tools brand for all of my brushes. They are definitely one of the top brands for brushes. All of the brushes are made from recycled materials, and bamboo for some of their brushes! I have bought two sets of brushes, and two of my brushes were purchased as singles. The brush on the left is a flat foundation brush that was purchased as a single for $7.49 at Ulta. The middle brush is a tapered blush brush which was the other single I bought for $8.49 at Ulta. The brush on the right is a round powder brush came in a package with a stay-there shadow brush, smudge brush, detailed lip/liner brush, and a pointed concealer brush. The 5-piece set was $17 at Ulta. I also got another set that included an angled crease brush, a petite eye shading brush, a large eye brush, a highlighting brush, and a smudge brush. These brushes were tiny and compact, specifically for traveling, and was $11.49 at Ulta. The brushes all come with their own case, which is handy when traveling. I know that these brushes are a steep price, but trust me it is way worth it. I also recommend Real Techniques brushes because they are amazing, and cheaper than this brand. Eco Tools is also available at Wall-mart and Target.
Now for my favorite product! Lipstick is definitely my favorite thing to buy, of course I obsess over all makeup, when I get a new lipstick I feel like a new person, and it makes me so happy! These are L'Oreal Paris brand lipsticks, which is the best drugstore brand lipstick I have tried. It has great pigment, and stays on forever! I can put it on at the beginning of the day, and not have to reapply until around 3 maybe (depending on what I eat for lunch). I have two colors, one is 350 British Red, and the other is 754 Sugar Plum. The British Red is an orangey red color that is very bold, and I love it. It compliments my skin tone, so I have been told. If you are not one for bold red lips, they have many shades of red, and I am sure that they have one to suit you! The Sugar Plum is a gorgeous light berry color that is perfect for autumn and winter. I love it because it is a flirty color because there is a bit of shimmer in the pigment. These are from the Colour Riche line from L'Oreal and are $8 from Ulta.

Sorry it has been a long post today, but I hope that it was enjoyable! I am always willing to try new products when I get suggestions, so leave your suggestions in the comments as to products that you guys love, and hopefully I will be able to try them out! I will be back with another Pinterest post next time (maybe even later this week)! All of my links are in the right side bar!
