First let me tell a mini story... So last year I had bought a new powder I wanted to try, and when I got it out of the bag it fell out of my hands and onto the hard tile floor in my dorm room. My first thought was, crap now its going to have broken and I am going to be powderless for a few days before I can get back to the store to replace it. Sure enough when I picked it up it was shattered to pieces, but before I gave up hope that I had just wasted $5 I turned to none other than Pinterest, and it gave me this solution...
To fix your makeup you will need:
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Toothpick (or any small pokey device)
- The broken makeup
Step 1: Pour a cap full of Rubbing Alcohol.
Step 3: Stir with toothpick.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the makeup has bonded together again.
Step 5: Leave the makeup out to dry with the lid off! Eventually the alcohol with evaporate and the makeup will become firm again! **It took mine all night to dry**
A couple things to keep in mind:
- I broke a container of Rimmel Stay Matte powder, which is bigger than a small container of eyeshadow. It took a cap and a half...ish to fix my makeup. You can adapt the steps to fit the size of makeup you are fixing, which is why I added "little by little" to the end of step two. If you pour too much rubbing alcohol on the makeup then it will take longer to dry and can overflow out of the container, so just be conscious.
- This will work on any pressed powder product! (Pressed powder is different than loose powder because you cannot break loose powder).
- After fixing the makeup it will smell like Rubbing Alcohol, but the longer you leave it out with the lid off the more the smell disappears. It took a day..ish I think for the smell to completely vanish.
